Natural Law Derivative Works License (NLDWL)
I. Purpose and Scope This license governs the use, modification, and distribution of the original works of Curt Doolittle and contributors to the Natural Law framework, ensuring open access, preventing enclosure, and requiring integration of Derivative Works into the Natural Law Instituteās AI knowledge base for mentions, references, quotes, and citations, while permitting commercialization of Derivative Works and prohibiting the Institute from commercializing othersā Derivative Works, in alignment with applicable intellectual property and contract laws.
II. Definitions

Original Work: Concepts, methods, grammars, or systems from the Natural Law framework, including but not limited to ternary logic of evolutionary computation, adversarial parsimony, serialization operationalism, and truth/reciprocity methodologies, to the extent protectable under applicable law.

Derivative Work: Any work that modifies, adapts, or builds upon the Original Work while incorporating its methods or grammar.

Future Work: Innovations logically derived from or enabled by the Original Work, not yet developed.

Attribution: Clear acknowledgment of Curt Doolittle and the Natural Law Institute as the source of the Original Work, including its intellectual lineage (e.g., āBased on the Natural Law framework by Curt Doolittle, Natural Law Instituteā).

Enclosure: Any attempt to patent, copyright, or otherwise restrict the public or reciprocal use of the Original Work beyond the terms of this license.

Public Disavowal: A formal public statement by the Natural Law Institute identifying a breach of this license.

AI Knowledge Base: The Natural Law Instituteās artificial intelligence systems or epistemic tools designed to accumulate and process knowledge derived from Original and Derivative Works.
III. License Grant

Freedom of Use and Commercialization: Subject to the terms of this license, individuals and entities are granted a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, study, modify, distribute, and commercialize the Original Work, Derivative Works, and Future Works, including in commercial applications, provided all terms of this license are met.

Mandatory Attribution: Any use, publication, distribution, or commercial/academic application of the Original Work or Derivative Works must include attribution to Curt Doolittle and the Natural Law Institute.

Prohibition on Enclosure: To the extent permitted by applicable law, no individual or entity may claim patents or copyrights that restrict the use, modification, or distribution of the Original Work without written consent from the Natural Law Institute. Derivative Works may be copyrighted or patented by their creators, provided such rights do not restrict the Original Work or its integration into the AI Knowledge Base as specified in Section III.5.

Reciprocity Requirement: Derivative Works must be licensed under terms no more restrictive than this license, ensuring open access and attribution. Use in closed-source or non-attributive systems constitutes a breach and may result in public disavowal and legal action under applicable law.

Integration into AI Knowledge Base: Derivative Works must be made available for integration into the Natural Law Instituteās AI Knowledge Base, where their use is limited to mentions, references, quotes, and citations. The Institute shall not commercialize Derivative Works created by others. Failure to permit such integration constitutes a breach and may result in public disavowal.

Non-Commercialization by the Institute: The Natural Law Institute shall not commercialize Derivative Works created by others, ensuring that contributors retain full commercial rights over their Derivative Works.
IV. Contributor Obligations Contributors who create or distribute Derivative Works agree to:

Provide attribution for all work relying on the Original Work.

License Derivative Works under terms compatible with this license, refraining from enclosing the Original Work.

Make Derivative Works available for integration into the Natural Law Instituteās AI Knowledge Base, limited to mentions, references, quotes, and citations.

Maintain transparency by making the methods and sources of Derivative Works publicly accessible.
V. Term and Termination

This license is perpetual and irrevocable unless terminated by breach.

Breaches of attribution, enclosure, reciprocity, or AI integration clauses terminate the licenseeās rights under this license. The Natural Law Institute may pursue remedies, including but not limited to injunctive relief, monetary damages, or public disavowal, as permitted by applicable law.
VI. Governing Principles This license is guided by:

Due diligence in ensuring truthful and transparent application.

Prohibition of monopolization or enclosure of the Original Work.
VII. Enforcement and Jurisdiction

Disputes arising under this license shall be governed by the laws of Delaware, United States, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions.

Disputes shall be resolved through arbitration administered by the Natural Law Institute or in the courts of Delaware, with Natural Law principles guiding the Instituteās internal processes where applicable.
VIII. Miscellaneous

Severability: If any provision of this license is found unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Modifications: The Natural Law Institute may revise this license to clarify or strengthen its protections. Revisions will be published on the Natural Law Instituteās website (www.naturallawinstitute.org) with a 30-day notice period before taking effect for existing users. Users are bound by the version in effect at the time of their use.

Waiver: To the extent permitted by law, the Natural Law Institute waives copyright or patent claims that would restrict use, modification, or distribution of the Original Work, subject to this licenseās terms.
