What I Believe Doesn”t Matter the Truth Is Evident

WHAT I BELIEVE DOESN”T MATTER THE TRUTH IS EVIDENT

— ” @curtd Would you say that God is conscious? Or, are you making an argument for naturalism, in that only science exists and not the supernatural/spiritual? ” — Michael Allen

(a) How can I know whether god exists? (b) How can I know whether an existential god is conscious? (c) I can and do know the laws of the universe, and those laws are not ‘nice’ – they are all but hostile to man. (d) Jesus’ teachings tell us how to tolerate those laws: Christian love of one another. (e) If I know both these laws of the universe and that jesus’ demand for love of one another is the only solution to human joy under those laws, then whether god is existential and conscious, existential but not conscious, emergent and unconscious, emergent and unconscious, or merely a convenient fiction makes no difference. What is required is that believe and act as if god exists, under the laws of the universe, and obey Jesus demand for Christian love of one another.

The question is why would you need more certainty than this? The reason is not a good one. The reason is if you need to believe that scripture is ‘true’ as science is true, or whether it is wisdom for us to inherit and make use of.

And there are people for whom the truth as I’ve explained it is insufficient for their egos – which is unchristian selfishness. God, His Laws, and Christ’s Command are enough. Everything else is just evading the work of understanding gods laws, the world we have built with them, and the responsibility of applying them, under the constraint of Christian love.
