Self-determination is ambiguous, in my mind. Because total self-determination on individual level is both an impossibility and on the other even in possible extremes can undermine self-determination of the group.
Same issue as with liberty. American founders weren’t pursuing individual but collective liberty consisting of ability to write legislation appropriate for their populations and conditions.
Well, it must be defined. If the definition isn’t obvious to me, imagine what shitlibs could do with it.
Both self-determination and liberty describe the absence of imposition on individual responsibility.
Self determination represents the capacity of the individual to cover the costs of the actions they elect to engage in (the basic action being – existing). The removal of self-imposed limitations on responsibility.
Liberty represents the restraint of the group in asserting limits on the individual expression of responsibility. The removal of externally imposed limitation on responsibility.
We acknowledge the limitation with a standard of demonstration – “to all members of the polity that are demonstrably able, willing, worthy,
and sworn to exchange them”
Able is measurable.
Willing is measurable.
Worthy is defined by the group (legislation appropriate to the population and conditions).
Sworn is defined by the group.

RE: liberty. Yes. Sovereignty, Freedom, Liberty are different concepts. Liberty means ‘the capacity of groups to preserve local custom tradition and law” It is a political property not an individual one. Soveriengy is individual. Freedom is a property of the individual within a political system. Sovereignty is simply a measurement of non-interference.
